Swatches: (YEP! They're back in S'PORE) Gransenbon Gran Brush Blushes

May09

Today i walked around BHG in Clementi Mall, and guess what i found!? Okay, no prizes, because the post's title is a dead giveaway. I will, however, aplogize in advance, because the pics are all taken with my cellphone camera...so ..."I'm Sorry".

Gransenbon is yet another Japanese Drugstore brand. Expect shimmers and glitters, which is typical of Asian makeup. Gransenbon used to be available at certain Watsons outlets, but have since pulled them off the shelves by the start of 2010. Since then, this is the only time i have spotted it back in retail space, and according to the display, Gransenbon is exclusive to BHG group in Singapore now.

GASP!!! Not only did i find this magical shelf tucked away, the blushes are on offer at $15 each (as indicated by my magical glowing brush skills), 50% cheaper that it's usual price of $29.90!!! There is no date stated for the promotion, it is simple "while stocks last". As of 11.50 pm on the 9th of May, there were about 20 pieces left for each of the 6 available colours.

BHG bought in 6 shades, namely 01 Lady Rose, 04 Orange Brown, 09 Apricot Ginger, 11 Sugar Marmalade, 12 Peach Rose, 13 Cherry Fromage. If i'm not mistaken, there are a total of 14 blushes in this series, but as you can see, not all are available to us. These blushes come with a brush tucked in the bottom of the compact.

L-R: 01 Lady Rose, 04 Orange Brown, 09 Apricot Ginger, 12 Peach Rose, 11 Sugar Marmalade, 13 Cherry Fromage.

Oooo.....the texture of this is sooooo pretty... look at how pigmented the colours are~!! Each swatch is 2 gentle swipes, with the exception 09 Apricot which is just 1 swipe. I can see why these blushers gain rave review all over the makeup sphere :) The texture is very soft, which is why i picked up more product than necessary, but it's not soft in the crumbly sense. The colours all look flattering on most skin tones, despite the shimmers in them (with the exception of 04 which has less shimmers and looks matte from a distance). 11 Sugar marmalade looks like a colour that only cool-toned girls can pull off, so do try this on your own skin to make sure it compliments your skintone.12 Peach Rose looks Nars Orgasm-ish, with the gold glitter sheen bathed in pink. I think 13 and 01 will look very good with darker skin tones.

I caved and got 04, 11 and 13. I need a larger face area to use up my blush collection which is growing exponentially.
